Tudor Summer Party

On July 7th at 7.30pm we are holding a Tudor Summer Party in the theatre. Starting with a buffet in the Ruby Graham Room  and a glass of Champagne we will then be entertained  in the auditorium by the multi-talented and amusing  Music Group
“ Dragonsfire”  who have performed all over the world to appreciative audiences, after which we will continue the partying! They play an amazing selection of instruments and having seen them on a number of occasions I am sure you will find this a diverting and pleasurable Summer`s evening. This is their first visit to Swansea. Tickets are £20 per person to include the buffet, entertainment and the first glass of champagne and are sure to sell out quickly as we are limited to 144.

Dragonsfire, the vocal and multi-instrumental quartet, performs regularly all over the United Kingdom, and past engagements have taken them to many European countries as well as the Channel Islands, Scandinavia, Canada and the Middle East. Last year, the group performed in Qatar, where they sang in front of the Emir on live television. Dragonsfire has made several recordings, appeared on radio and television in this country and abroad, and they have composed and performed music both for radio and for theatrical productions, including a production at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.

They are in great demand at many period venues including Hever Castle, the London Livery Company halls, the Tower of London and Hampton Court Palace, and Dragonsfire performed at an Elizabethan venue in London, Eastbury Manor, for one of the Queen's visits during her Jubilee year. They have also performed at private events for Sting and Tom Cruise, and appeared as medieval musicians in the feature film, Inkheart, starring Helen Mirren..

Their performances are known for their unique blend of informal yet highly professional presentation, beautiful harmonies, haunting melodies, infectious fun, colourful costume and breathtaking versatility. They play a huge array of instruments and each musical item is arranged by a member of the group, ensuring their highly individual style which will appeal to all music lovers, including the non-specialist and the family audience.

They have three recordings currently available on CD and cassette –
A Royal Array (English early music from 1250 to 1600)
Crossing the Borders (arrangements of traditional British folk songs)
A Present from the Past (Christmas music and carols from the medieval period to the 20th century).
